The GS has a new,
sleeker look, with sculpted lines, slingshot-shaped windows, a wider
rear tread and a longer wheelbase. This aggressive design makes the
GS appear closer to the ground than it actually is, adding to an overall
sportier appearance. Integrated foglights and an exposed steel-tipped
dual exhaust accent the revamped look. This available parking
assistance system uses a combination of eight sensors to determine whether
the GS will contact on object in its path. This sonar-based steering
system, which also alerts you to the steering angle while driving forward,
can help make fender benders caused by parking a thing of the past. The GS 430 comes
equipped with 18 x 8.0-inch alloy wheels, combined with 245/40ZR18 tires
[2]. The GS 300 features 17 x 7.5-inch alloy wheels and 225/50VR tires
[2], both standard. In addition to their sporty appearance, these lightweight
wheels and performance tires allow for quicker steering and handle the
road better. The Z speed rating for the GS 430 18-inch tires means that
the tires are designed to accommodate speeds of over 149 mph. A wood- and leather-trimmed
three-spoke steering wheel and shift knob is standard on the GS, making
the interior look and feel luxurious. Depending on your interior color
choice, the rich wood trim will be golden bird's-eye maple, black bird's-eye
maple or red walnut. Other interior accents include stainless-steel
branded scuff plates on all door sills.
